Easing Arthritis Joint Pain

Arthritis is a debilitating disease that can affect anyone. There are several types of the disorder including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid and gout. The common denominator in all of these is joint pain.

This can be a painful, crippling disease. The painful effects unfortunately, will not go away but there are ways that will assist you in managing the pain.

Arthritis can affect the young and old. However, typically it occurs more frequently in people as they age. As you and your joints age, they begin to wear which leads to arthritis and the precipitating pain.

Age also affects blood circulation which leads to joint pain and inflammation. This also affects cartilage which wears down, causing bones to rub against each other.

Physicians recommend fatty acids which act as lubricants for joints. This presents the joints from wearing down quickly and also eases pain. There are many recommended oils such as Borage Oil, Primrose Oil and NKO Oil.

These oils ease pain and stiffness and help rejuvenate squeaky joints!

We all have daily routines as we go to work and do necessary household tasks. But it is important to slow down if you have arthritis and be more conscientious about daily activities, to prevent further harm. Learn to read signs that your body is telling you that you may be overdoing it such as inflammation and chronic pain.

Use a common sense approach when attempting daily tasks. Physicians recommend using your palm when carrying things as this will ease the weight on your forearm. Also instead of lifting items, you could slide them to you.

Try not to put a great deal of stress on your fingers. They are so delicate and are not able to take a great deal of stress and weight. Use your palms to hold things and use trays to carry heavy items. Think creatively to find ways of using your fingers less and your palms more.

Exercise your fingers by holding your fist for a few seconds and then releasing them. Use a book support instead of using your fingers. Try to avoid stress and pressure on your fingers.

Do not do weight bearing exercises with your fingers, this puts extra strain and pressure on them. Exercise them by slowly bending them to keep the joints limber. This will help with your range of motion. Try to do exercises one to two times per day. If they begin to feel achy and tired stop doing them, take a break and try again later.

Arthritis is painful but, there are ways to stay limber and flexible without putting extra pressure on your joints. Learn safe ways to daily household duties that will not put extra stress on your body.

Listen to your body and avoid strenuous exercise that puts extra pressure on your joints. If you have arthritis, it is important for you to do stretching exercises but do not over exert yourself or put extra pressure on your joints.

Ask your physician for assistance in arthritis exercises you can do that will help but not hurt you.
